Olive and June Partner
I love having nail polish on, but I don’t handle it well when my nail polish starts to chip a day or two after I paint my nails, that is where Olive in June comes in. I use their Mani system and my nail polish will stay on for a week with no chipping. It brings me so much joy every time I look at my nails with these fun colors, and I want you to have that joy too.

Introduction to Mr. Jim
Hello friends. My name is Mr. Jim and I live in South Carolina with my wife and three kids. Uh, I’ve been podcasting for almost three years now and I love animals.
Not, not as much as Andi’s kids, but I love animals a lot. A lot.
How Kids Animal Stories Came to Be
Yeah, so Kids Animal Stories. Um, Was was birthed out of kind of our mother podcast Kids Short Stories after a lot of submissions were coming in about animals. And so little, possibly little known fact about Mr. Jim is, so my undergrad and my whole background is zoology and I grew up working at wildlife centers and like, this was, this is my, my secret love for not so secret love . And so, Growing up watching Steve Irwin or Jeff Corwin or eventually Wild Kratts and those Kratt brothers, like all those, I love critters of all shapes and sizes and so Kids Animal Stories started a, a year and a half ago and um, it was just a way of saying, Hey, let’s learn about animals and have fun along.
So there, there’s still some fun stories about Benji the Badger, but we’re able to. Have a fun animal story, but learn some cool facts, um, in there. Um, and so one of my favorite types of the episodes are the mystery ones.
So, um, kids, animal stories are really not just me. So my best friend growing up, Luke, he and his wife are very involved in the creation of that show and help write all the stories. Um, that one is a little more scripted. Um, and they do a lot of the research of finding out, you know, all the, here’s, here’s a full one page summary of the Chuck, Chuck Walla, or a badger.
And which ones do we wanna, which facts or information do we wanna kind of highlight on? So they’re a very, uh, big part of kids’ animal stories. Kids Animal Stories is great for kids, you know, 3 to 10 years old who are interested in learning about animals. We call them critters. Uh, critters of all shapes and sizes.
What Kids (and Parents) Should Expect from Kids Animal Stories
Kids Animal Stories is an audio first content where, uh, kids can use their imagination. Like with these mystery episodes that I hinted at earlier, it’s where they’re listening to a story and I lay out the clues of, all right, this critter. Um, Is black and white and it has four legs.
And, and so in the story, they’re able to kind of piece together like, Oh wait, I think it might be, um, a skunk. No, it wasn’t stinky. It’s gotta be something else. And, and so they’re, um, they have to figure out what this critter is. What parents might expect when listening to this is that one that their kids are gonna learn more about animals and wildlife.
Um, and then, um, the, the next kind of step that we’re, we’re wanting to head towards is a little bit more, um, like things to do at home. Uh, so we have some activities that we build out, um, that Chelsea, uh, one of the partners, she builds out an activity for every single animal that we do in episode for, um, she’s, she’s great with.
And, um, but yes, I wanna build out more real life experiences for maybe kids to, uh, build a critter habitat in their backyard or, um, to take what they’re learning and to do it in real life.
The Vibe of Kids Animal Stories
Playful, fun, imaginative. For kids that love critters of all shapes and sizes.
Mr. Jim’s Favorite Type of Episode
Well, I love the mystery stories if you haven’t, uh, picked up on that by now. . So, I, I love reptiles. Reptiles are my, my first critter love. and, and so any, any of the stories that have to do with snakes or lizards or crocodiles, those are the ones that really excite me the most.
Kids Animal Stories & Little Ears
Oh, yes. It is very much geared for little years. I have three kids, uh, five. Six and eight. We just had some birthdays, and so I’m always recounting my math. Uh, I love that I, I’m a dad and so as I’m telling these stories for your kids, just know that I’m really telling them also for mine.
And, and so like, definitely that age I’m in every day with you, moms and dads listening. Um, and so these are very much, uh, aimed. To be listened to by, you know, 3 to all the way to 10.
Critter Protector Badges
So, being a critter protector on our show just means that your kid loves critters of all shapes and sizes.
Down in the show notes of our episodes kids can sign up for their very own critter protector badge that I will send in the mail. Um, this is our first step of helping them feel like they are a part of something. And, so I make every attempt and effort when kids send a message to me on Instagram, I respond to all of them with a video from me.
And so if your kid. Listening to the show and they would like, uh, a hello from me. Um, that is high priority cuz I, I just want them to feel like they’re a part of something in that, um, we’re in this together.
