Grow Your Podcast Without Spending All Your Time Marketing
If you’ve ever felt like marketing your podcast takes more time than actually making your podcast… you’re not alone.
One of my biggest goals as a podcast coach is helping you grow your podcast without letting marketing take over your life. Because let’s be honest—most of us started podcasting because we love sharing ideas, connecting with listeners, and creating content. Not because we wanted to spend hours trying to figure out social media algorithms.
Over the years, I’ve tested a lot of podcast marketing strategies. Some worked. Many didn’t. But a few strategies have consistently helped me grow my podcast audience in a sustainable way.
I’m sharing the three podcast marketing strategies that have helped me grow my show while spending as little time as possible on promotion.
Topics covered in this podcast episode:
- How to grow a podcast audience without spending hours on marketing
- Why sustainable podcasting strategies matter for long-term growth
- How Pinterest can help you grow a podcast without social media pressure
- Why podcast guesting is one of the best ways to reach new listeners
- How guesting introduces your podcast to people who already love podcasts
- Using Threads to connect with other podcasters and potential listeners
- Simple podcast marketing strategies that don’t require constant posting
- How to grow a podcast in 2026 using search-based platforms
Pinterest for Podcast Marketing
If you know me, this one won’t surprise you.
Pinterest is one of my favorite ways to grow a podcast audience. And no—it’s not because I planned to become a Pinterest strategist. I started using Pinterest simply because I wanted a marketing strategy that didn’t require constant effort.
Pinterest works differently than most social media platforms. It’s actually a search engine, which means people are actively looking for solutions and ideas when they’re on the platform.
That’s incredibly powerful for podcast marketing.
When I started taking Pinterest seriously, something amazing happened. My podcast downloads increased by 100% in a single summer, my email list grew by more than 100 subscribers, and my business had its most successful revenue month since I started podcasting.
The best part? Pins I created years ago are still bringing new listeners to my podcast today.
That’s the beauty of search-based marketing.
Podcast Guesting: The Fastest Way to Find New Listeners
Another one of my favorite podcast marketing strategies is being a guest on other podcasts.
When you appear as a guest, you’re speaking directly to people who already love podcasts. They already know how to listen, they already have a podcast app, and they’re already interested in the kinds of conversations you’re having.
That makes it much easier to turn those listeners into new subscribers for your show.
Guesting also gives people a preview of your personality and teaching style. They get a sense of your vibe before ever pressing play on your podcast.
And when someone already feels connected to you, they’re much more likely to stick around once they start listening.
Using Threads to Grow Your Podcast
The third tool I love using for podcast marketing is Threads.
What I love most about Threads is how simple it is. I can share ideas quickly using just text, which makes it perfect for podcasters who don’t want to spend a ton of time creating graphics or videos.
Many podcasters are already active on Threads, which makes it a great place to connect with other creators and potential listeners.
My personal routine is simple: every Monday I schedule my Threads posts for the week. The whole process takes about 20 minutes, and it keeps my podcast visible without requiring daily effort.
It’s also where I’ve met some amazing podcasters and even connected with clients who were interested in learning more about Pinterest for podcast marketing.
Sustainable Podcast Marketing Matters
One of the biggest mistakes I see podcasters make is trying to do everything.
Every platform. Every trend. Every marketing strategy.
But sustainable podcasting strategies are about finding a few tools that work for you—and sticking with them.
For me, that combination is:
- Podcast guesting
- Threads
Together, they help me grow my podcast audience without spending hours every week on marketing.
And that means I get to focus on what actually matters most: creating a podcast I love.
