This week is all about bedtime stories and meditation, kid podcasts. Recently, a super smart mom commented on one of my TikTok videos about kid podcasts. She said that she uses kid podcasts to ease bedtime separation anxiety with her kids.
She listens to one or two episodes with her kids and then lets it continue to play after she leaves. This helps her kids feel less alone. Isn’t that absolutely brilliant?

Podcasts are the best. Here are a couple of kid podcasts that you can use for bedtime stories or to help your kids relax and be still, even if it’s only for a couple of minutes.
Be Calm
The first kid oodcast is called Be Calm on Ahway Island with calm, narrators, and sweet stories. This is a great one to help your kids calm down for bedtime or anytime when they need to relax.
This is how the Be Calm on a Ahway Island team describes the show. It features relaxing, original short stories for kids. Each episode begins with a guided meditation and contains a positive message. It is perfect for bedtime stories or anytime it’s time to relax.
Each episode is around 20 minutes long. New episodes are available on Mondays and Fridays.
Bedtime Stories with Bedtime Explorers
The next kid podcast is called Bedtime Explorers. This podcast takes your kids on adventures that are somehow fun and relaxing. This is how the Bedtime Explorers team describes the show. Slow down and snuggle down with Kinderling’s relaxing meditation series, specially designed to soothe kids to sleep. Join mindfulness coach Amy as she guides kids on wonderful imaginative journeys to magical places.
Each episode is around 15 minutes long. There are almost a hundred episodes for your kids to choose from.
Guide to Kid Podcasts
One of my favorite parenting tools is kid podcasts. I use them when I’m running errands with the kiddos to keep them from complaining the whole time. When I need a mom break, I’ll just grab an easy activity like coloring pages or a sensory bin, turn on a kid podcast and the kids will be entertained for at least half an hour.
I know that kid podcasts would help you in your life too, which is why I made a Guide to Kid podcasts. There are eight categories ranging from science to mindfulness to audio drama with at least three podcasts in each category. There are 27 podcasts in total on the guide. I’ve listened to each of the podcasts so I can attest to them being kid friendly, and I put my email at the bottom of the guide so that if you try a couple with your kids, and none of them are a good fit.
You can email me and I will personally help you find a kid podcast that works for your littles and you, you can grab this guide at the link earlier in the post.
Science Based Bedtime Stories
The last bedtime/meditation kid podcast for today is called Sleep Tight Science. If I’m being completely honest, I don’t normally associate science with relaxation. This kid podcast somehow marries the two in the best way.
This is how the Sleep Tight team describes the show. Sleep Tight Science is an engaging bedtime show for the whole family that answers the questions kids have about science. Each episode is about 25 minutes long with new episodes available on Wednesdays.
A New Way to Unwind
Hopefully, you are as excited about this new way to do bedtime stories, as I am. Truly, I’m considering using them on family road trips this summer when I want the kids to sleep on the drive.
